Professor
Crunch and the Daffies
is an entertaining and educational DVD which teaches children about science
through puppetry, music and humorous skits. Professor Crunch and his assistant
Chloe teach talking “lab animal” Urchin and the alien Daffies about the three
dimensions, scientific terminology and the solar system through songs and
sketches.
There is no harmful
content in this DVD. “What the heck” is used as a rhyme in a song, and during
humorous skits Urchin throws a baseball, breaking items and is also seen
messing up the professor’s experiment materials. Afterwards, he is admonished
not to throw balls in the house and keep his hands off things he shouldn’t
touch.
This movie is
appropriate for children of all ages; but some of the material covered is rather
advanced, with words such as “classification” and “taxonomy,” possibly confusing
for very young children. For its fun-filled songs, sprightly humor and
delightful approach to education, the Parents Television Council is proud to
award Professor Crunch and the Daffies with the PTC Seal of ApprovalTM.
This DVD is recommended for children over age 7.
