General Mills Awarded Third Annual 'Crown Award' for Responsible TV Advertising

Consumer foods giant General Mills has been named as the recipient of the third annual “Crown Award” for responsible advertising, presented by Hallmark Channels and the Parents Television Council.  The award was presented by Bill Abbott, President and CEO, Hallmark Channels, and Tim Winter, President, Parents Television Council (PTC), on October 13 at General Mills’ Minneapolis headquarters.  Ken Powell, Chairman and CEO of General Mills, was presented with the award because of the company’s consistent commitment to and appreciation of quality, family-friendly programming through their advertising. more

 


 

Parents Television Council Awards Darden Restaurants Advertiser Seal of Approval

 

Annually, the Parents Television Council names the top ten advertisers that support, through their television advertising, programs that are socially responsible and family-friendly. Parents Television Council Awards Coca-Cola® Advertiser Seal of Approval

 

"We commend Coca-Cola for being a responsible advertiser," PTC Executive Director Tim Winter said. "By placing their advertisements on shows that are positive and not violent or sexually graphic, Coca-Cola is showing its respect for American families."

 

Begun in 1886 the company has evolved from one product (Coca-Cola) to more than 400 brands in 2006. It's grown from selling a modest nine drinks a day in 1886 to more than 1.3 billion a day! Coca-Cola is currently sold in more than 200 countries around the world. more
